Morning Monsters

For Today's Cryptozoological find, I bring you the work of Alex CF! He comes from us all the way from Britlandia and makes adorable curio cabinets containing the most horrifying oddities. Werewolf kits, a variety of deformed fetuses, fetusi, fetusie (whatever), and vampire hunting cases are just some of the joys you'll find on his site. Each piece has such amazing details that I can't imagine how long it takes to make each one. But for that dedication we salute you, Alex CF for making a better Tomorrow, Today!

OCHIBOS! (Oh-chee-bohs)

From what I can gather, Ochibos are actually trying to take over our world and help us out a bit. They plan on making their way into politics based on their cuteness (Hey, people vote for worse reasons than that). Once in political control, they will enact peace upon the world and begin to solve our social problems starting with education. From there the plan gets very, very secret and they won't even tell me what they want to do next. I do know that they are very altruistic in nature and have a strong sense of duty to scientific advancement. I often hear them talking about various cures they will be able to share with us once our technology catches up their own.
Don't let their cuteness fool you, these little guys are super smart and super empathetic and have it out to make our world better. Here is hoping they succeed.

FurFright wants your monsters!

FurFright is a Halloween themed anthropomorphics convention in Waterbury October 17th-19th. They are currently seeking submissions to their conbook, panelists, and donations to the charity auction.

The con book showcases Halloween themed anthropomorphic art and writing. Around 900 copies of the conbook will be produced. They're also looking for ACEO sized artwork for their convention badges.
Guidelines for art submission. Written work must be 1000 words or LESS. full written work guidelines

As to panels, they're looking for people to give a presentation/workshop on something vaguely on the convention's topic. So anything art, Halloween, or animal themed.

I normally run a panel for the Rage CCG where I teach folks to play. I've also done panels on getting started with sculpture and creating art for collectible card games.

Some examples of panels from past conventions:
Dance Dance Revolution tournament (including competing in costume), Performing in Costume, Intro to Puppetry, Creating Historical Costumes, Drawing and Painting Fur, Mythology of the Wolf & Werewolf, Design Tattoos, Everything you wanted to know about Ferrets as Pets, Palm Reading, Writing Realistic Characters, and Frankenfursuit (like Project Runaway, but creating hideous monster costumes on a deadline).

So everything from how-to panels to keeping unusual pets. If you want to show off your stuff, or your unusual critters, you can sign up to be a panelist here

They are also seeking donations to the charity auction which will benefit New Leash on Life of Stratford and Pays De L’ours (French only) which is seeking to save the last 20 Pyranese brown bears. Want to donate something? Contact Riismo at auction2008 AT furfright DOT org

I Shrunk My Huggitz!

Most are made from fleece scraps, but some are made from fake fur. Each one is one-of-a-kind, complete with their own little back-story. Three are in the store right now with more to come!

I've also listed some new ACEOs, two of which feature Mister Bones, one of my favourite plush creations.

Visit my store at victriviaqueen.etsy.com to see all the new additions plus plenty of original Huggitz monsters and their friends.

New Coffin Portrait Jewelry by Devil & Mouse

Been working on more elegant pieces for my shop and I am really happy with how they are looking. The images I use on the coffins are of: Edgar Alan Poe, Theda Bara, HP Lovecraft, Oscar Wilde, Countess Bathory and Vlad Dracula. They are paired with a selection of hand knotted glass and stone beads and are finished off with an attractive button and beaded loop. I have a few up at the store now. Shrunken Punk

Most everyone remembers panty hose dolls. Your mom used to sit around the kitchen table making sweet little old lady faces. Or maybe you remember your Granny or aunt sewing them, or maybe even you made one or two yourself many years ago.
Well get ready for a different spin on the traditional panty hose heads!
Shrunken Punks are 100% hand sewn. Each stitch lends chracter and personality and no 2 are EVER the same. The little eyes are very carfully handpainted to full veinyness.
Most Punks have a fine mane of luxurious hair but some got the short cut. They are rare but I have even been making little pirates with stylin beards!

Whhhhhhat? Only 5 dollars you say???
